NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to New Orleans residents. On Wednesday, August 8, 2012, and Monday, August 13 – Tuesday, August 14, 2012, a production crew will be conducting filming in the Central Business District. There will be a vehicular street closure in effect on Natchez Street between Camp Street and Magazine Street during the following times:
The production will include the sound of screeching tires and simulated gun fire. Uniformed officers will be on hand to ensure public safety and to facilitate the production crew’s work. Film New Orleans assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community. In 2011, $531 million was spent locally in the film industry during both filming and post-production, contributing significantly to the New Orleans economy by creating jobs. For questions about filming in New Orleans, please contact Katie Williams at Film New Orleans within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy at (504) 658-0923. ### |
