NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to New Orleans residents.
On Friday, June 22 through Saturday, June 23 a production crew will be conducting filming in City Park.
In order to facilitate filming, Harrison Ave will be closed to through traffic. Harrison Ave. from Marconi Dr. to Wisner Blvd. will be closed between the hours of 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 22 to 6:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23.
Traffic wishing to cut through City Park will be detoured to Filmore Avenue. During nighttime filming hours, light poles on Harrison Ave. will be turned off.
Uniformed officers will be on hand to supervise the closure.
Film New Orleans assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2011, $531 million was spent locally in the film industry during both filming and post-production, contributing significantly to the New Orleans economy by creating jobs.
