NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to New Orleans residents.
A production company will be filming an action sequence that will include two separate fire tests at the intersection of Guadalcanal St. and Carmick St. in Federal City in Algiers on Thursday, July 12 from 10am until 11am.
The first test will involve some small fires and some light explosions. The other test will involve a “fireball” explosion which will be approximately 20′ in height.
New Orleans Fire Department will be on the scene to ensure safety.
Film New Orleans assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2011, $531 million was spent locally in the film industry during both filming and post-production, contributing significantly to the New Orleans economy by creating jobs.
