Press Release: New Orleans Film Stars Add Real Character to T.D. Jakes’ Movie “Woman Thou Art Loosed!: On the 7th Day

New Orleans, Louisiana (March 27, 2012)

Encore Event Planning, LLC (Essence Harris and Keisha G. Means) and Geiá Carter Public Relations, LLC have teamed up to produce a star-studded, New Orleans Red Carpet movie premiere in honor of T.D. Jakes’ “Woman Thou Art Loosed!: On the 7th Day.” This much anticipated second installment from Bishop T.D. Jakes’ Woman Thou Art Loosed! film franchise stars Golden Globe® Nominee Blair Underwood (Madea’s Family Reunion, Set It Off), Sharon Leal (Why Did I Get Married Too?, This Christmas), and Emmy Award® Nominee Pam Grier (2012, The Man with the Iron Fists, Just Wright). Besides the film being shot on location in New Orleans (2011), of special interest to loyal, local fans of the movie are New Orleans’ stars Nicoye Banks (NBC’s “Law & Order”, Green Zone, G, Brooklyn’s Finest, Invincible), Jaqueline Fleming (2012, Contraband, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and introducing Zoë Carter (Black Saturday, Sinners and Saints, HBO’s “Tremé”) as “Mikayla Ames.”

When asked why such a devoted interest in producing a major event around the release of this particular movie Encore Events partner, Essence Harris, said the decision was due in large part to the story’s overwhelming message of the power of forgiveness. “It’s a message that we want to bring attention to within our communities. We’re hoping that it will inspire change and promote a more peaceful union within the community. We also want to highlight the accomplishments of the homegrown stars of the movie.”

While highlighting New Orleans local talent, Nicoye Banks’ non-profit foundation, “It Takes Heart” has partnered with Encore Event Planning to award theatre arts scholarships. This year the Foundation will present scholarships to deserving students (cast and crew) from the production of “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf” at Dillard University New Orleans as they celebrate their 76th season.

AMC Theatre in Clearview Palace 12 will be the host venue of the April 5th event. The premiere will feature a media-infused red carpet arrival and VIP reception which runs from 6:00pm – 6:45pm. The feature film will begin promptly at 7:15pm followed by a Q&A with the film’s stars and autograph signings.

General Admission tickets are $25, All Access VIP tickets are $40. All tickets are available exclusively online @ http://onthe7thdaytickets.eventbrite.com.
