CITY OF NEW ORLEANS ISSUES FILMING NOTICE FOR RESIDENTS
NEW ORLEANS, LA – Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued filming notices to New Orleans residents for Wednesday, Dec. 10 through Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014.
From Wednesday, Dec. 10 through Saturday, Dec. 13, a production company will film exterior scenes at the Loyola St. exit of U.S. Highway 90-W and Earhart Blvd. between Magnolia St. and Simon Bolivar Ave. The sequence being filmed involves special effects containing simulated explosions. As a result, the specified streets will close from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. nightly.
New Orleans East
On Sunday, Dec. 14, a production company will film exterior scenes on Almonaster Blvd. between Jourdan Rd. and Elaine Rd. As a result, all eastbound traffic on Almonaster Blvd. will be detoured to one lane on the westbound side of the street from 6 p.m. until 4 a.m.
The New Orleans Fire Department and law enforcement will be on site ensure public safety and to help facilitate the work.
Film New Orleans within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2013, New Orleans hosted 60 tax credit film projects (TV, films, and commercials with budgets over $300,000), with direct spending of $456 million.
