CITY OF NEW ORLEANS ISSUES FILMING NOTICE FOR RESIDENTS
NEW ORLEANS – Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued filming notices to New Orleans residents in the Lower Garden District and the French Quarter for Monday, April 13 through Wednesday April 15, 2015.
Lower Garden District
On Monday, April 13, 2015, a production company will film exterior scenes on St. Thomas Street between Market and St. James Streets. The sequence being filmed involves special effects containing simulated automatic gunfire. As a result, the specified street will close from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15, 2015, a production company will film exterior scenes on Toulouse Street between Bourbon and Royal Streets between noon and 11:00 pm each day. The sequence being filmed involves special effects containing simulated automatic gunfire. As a result, the specified street will close from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. nightly.
The New Orleans Fire Department and law enforcement will be on site to ensure public safety and help facilitate the work.
Film New Orleans within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2014, New Orleans hosted 60 tax credit film projects (TV, films, and commercials with budgets over $300,000), with direct spending of roughly $509 million.
