FILMING NOTICES FOR RESIDENTS IN CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT
NEW ORLEANS – Today, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued filming notices to residents in the Central Business District.
On Tuesday, March 29, 2016, and Thursday, March 31, 2016, a production company will be filming on St. Charles Ave. between Girod St. and Julia St. The filming will cause intermittent traffic delays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. St. Charles Ave. will be closed to traffic from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
RTA streetcar service will be replaced by bus service along St. Charles Ave. on Tuesday and Thursday.
Filming will involve simulated explosion and smoke in the 700 block of St. Charles Ave. NOFD and law enforcement officers will be on site to ensure public safety and help facilitate the work.
Film New Orleans within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
In 2015, New Orleans hosted 41 tax credit film projects (TV, films, and commercials with budgets over $300,000), with direct spending of roughly $583 million.
