Thank you for considering the City of New Orleans for your project! New Orleans boasts the most diverse portfolio of film and television work in the State of Louisiana, catering to the largest of studio features, smallest of independent projects, and a wide range of television and commercial production. The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy and Film New Orleans (FNO) welcome you to New Orleans! Our historic, vivid and culturally rich neighborhoods provide incredible locations and backdrops for the various productions that choose the City for filming.

To undertake any film activity in New Orleans, a production must secure a Film Permit. To begin this process for your project, please visit the permitting page. All materials must be received no later than 3 business days prior to filming. A member of our staff will contact you once the application is received. In the meantime, if you have any questions feel free to contact the office.
