50 People 1 Question' event blends film, music and human connections

The popular online film series, Fifty People One Question, will be presented in a unique 'interactive screening' format at The New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center on Sunday, December 6th. The event entitled, Fifty People One Question: By the end of today… is in collaboration with the New Orleans Indie Rock Collective and 50 People 1 Question. The event will feature live performances of new original music composed by local bands to accompany each of the 5 short films. The bands include Smiley with a Knife, Sun Hotel, Chaz Knapp, A Living Soundtrack, and Mastermind Theatre. This blend of digital film and live music will be balanced by interactive 'vignettes' for audience participation, including a live call for responses from attendees.

Fifty People One Question is an ongoing social experiment and film series celebrating the connections between people and place. The project, which began in New Orleans in 2008, has since traveled to New York City, London, Mexico City, San Francisco and Perugia, Italy. Remarkable individuals from across the globe have shared countless responses to the films' questions, both through the lens and in written form, and the project's website -- http://50people1question.com -- has garnered thousands of written responses from over 1,000 cities worldwide. For one night only, everyone is invited to see, hear, feel and explore our deepest human connections.

New Orleans Indie Rock Collective was formed in the Spring of 2008 with the mission of building an infrastructure for and raising awareness of the New Orleans indie rock scene.  Since it's conception, the Collective has released three sampler CDs (Rock Beats PaperRobots Are Mean, and Hipper Than Thou) featuring 8 different indie rock bands on each.  To celebrate the release of these samplers, the Collective has also put on three multi-night festivals at local venues.  The Collective continually presents both local and nationally touring indie rock shows and is also planning Foburg, a multi-venue/multi-night indie rock showcase on Frenchman St. featuring local and nationally touring indie rock bands scheduled for Spring 2010.

The event is jointly presented by Fifty People One Question, Deltree, Crush Lovely, New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans Indie Rock Collective and Post Secret.
